Mark’s unique approach to sharing knowledge and experience coupled with his natural ability to create a cohesive team/community feel in a small group, resulted in an experience that was always appropriately challenging, interesting and ultimately, great fun.
The AW event itself, whilst relaxed and well paced, was packed with ideas and insights that kept my quest for knowledge more than adequately sustained throughout - I can’t quite believe I’ve created the means to make fire by friction!
Regarding the location, I felt that it was particularly well suited for this kind of event and I enjoyed the various places available to pitch my tent. Simple things perhaps, but to me, very important.
As a result of attending AW, my own ‘ancestral journey’ is now feeling more familiar and I’m better equipped and connected on multiple levels for the road ahead.
Meeting and sharing space with like minds and with Mark’s guidance has brought both positive charge and welcome direction to my own journey. I feel more whole-some, more purpose-full and better connected to my place in my own ‘now’ - I’m at last meeting with, my own authentic, indigenous-self within."

"A last minute enquiry and opening led me to go on the Ancestral Walk weekend, I was hastily prepared having stored most of my kit and pretty much had no expectations, really I was just looking forward to being around like minded people in my favourite setting for a while doing things that I loved.
It was so much more than that.
Mark has incredible patience and a kind and humorous manner that really helps you to understand and even though I had some resistance to doing some of the things, I persevered, like doing the nettle cordage, and some things just clicked.
I didn’t even know that this weekend led to a wilderness adventure and before this weekend I would have never thought I could do such a thing and now so long as I know I have the right preparations I think I can do it.
I think Mark is a great teacher and the setting is wonderful, and learning some of the things that our Ancestors would have done was really fascinating and super satisfying.
I will definitely think about doing more of his courses in the future."
